Nongpoh, Meghalaya, January 21 (HBTV): Leaders and members of the Umroi Constituency Progressive Forum (UCPF), led by its president, Pynskhem Sohtun, officially joined the Congress party during a meeting held today at the Umroi Football Ground.
This move was made to extend their support to Congress candidate Micky Douglas Syiem, who is contesting the forthcoming MDC elections from Umroi constituency.
Notably, Micky Douglas Syiem, who previously served as the working president of UCPF, has also joined the Congress party. The Congress has officially allotted him the party ticket as their candidate for the elections.
The event saw the participation of prominent leaders.
